David Caro, MD is a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His residency training took place at several affiliated hospitals, predominately at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center with Dr. Willet Whitmore, and Bellevue Hospital. Specific training in Infertility was directed by Drs. Amelar and Dubin. For approximately two years after residency, he practiced urology in Peoria, Illinois during which time he also held a clinical teaching appointment at the University of Illinois School of Medicine.
As a member of the Bay Area medical community since 1982, Dr. Caro has served on various committees and boards including executive committee appointments at both San Mateo County Health Center and Mills-Peninsula Hospital. He has been the Chair of Urology at the County Hospital for over ten years, and has also served in this capacity at Mills-Peninsula Hospital. Dr. Caro has also chaired the business committee responsible for the formation of Mills-Peninsula Medical Group. Other past appointments were Vice-President and Treasurer of the San Mateo County Hospital IPA.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Caro enjoys participating in activities with his step children, as well as, running, basketball, reading, and playing piano. In his "next life", he hopes to be a sportswriter or comedy writer.
